She hails from Simpsonville, KY and is a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky where she earned her degrees in both Vocal Performance (BM) and Arts Administration (BA). Ruthie is currently traveling the country as the Female Swing/US Frau Schmidt and Sisters Berthe, Margaretta, and Sophia on the North American Tour of “The Sound of Music”! This past summer, she performed as Glinda/Aunt Em in Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz. Other regional credits include Mother in Ragtime at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre (Prather Productions); Marian Paroo in The Music Man and Martha Sowerby in The Secret Garden at the Round Barn Theatre; Maria Rainer in The Sound of Music, Betty Haynes in White Christmas, and Rose Smith in Meet Me in St. Louis at Myers Dinner Theatre; and Ensemble/Elsa Schraeder U/S in The Sound of Music at The Lexington Theatre Company. NYC Credits: Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins at 92NY; Cinderella’s Stepmother in “The History of Into The Woods” at 54 Below and Ensemble in “Hello Dolly! In Concert”, both with JWM Theatrical Company. She has also spent two seasons at The Lost Colony in Manteo, NC where she has played various roles, worked as an administrative assistant, and been involved in Professional Theatre Workshops both on and off stage. Some of Ruthie's favorite performances from her undergraduate experience include Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica (Fall 2019), Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly (Spring 2019), and being in the company of the “It’s A Grand Night for Singing” Musical Revue as a featured soloist and dancer with the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre. Ruthie’s love for performing has been fostered through her involvement at her home church, school choir and theatre, Louisville Youth Choir, and private voice/acting studies. In addition to her involvement in the arts, Ruthie enjoys film photography, hiking, reading, spending time at local coffee shops, and being with family and friends.
